Our Home Away from Home
Crafted with meticulous care and consideration, our boarding house provides a nurturing environment for students aged 13 to 19. We assure their safety, comfort, and academic development throughout their educational journey. At the core of our boarding house is the “Home from Home” ethos, creating a warm and welcoming ambience that feels like a second family.
Our dedicated live-in House Parent provides unwavering support, acting as a mentor, guide, and friend to every student. They nurture our students both academically and personally, fostering a sense of belonging and nurturing cherished memories in the process.
Our boarding house facilities include:
For young adults living away from home, our boarding house provides familiar comforts, personal care and support, while offering them an opportunity to develop into independent, responsible learners.
Catering
Breakfast and dinner are included in our meal plan, provided seven days a week. The menu, developed in conjunction with external caterers, ensures a healthy and balanced diet that respects the cultural and religious requirements of our students.
During the school week, students can enjoy lunch at one of the many affordable, yet high-quality food and beverage outlets in the Hartamas Shopping Mall and surrounding precinct. Weekend lunches will depend on the activities students participate in and could be within the boarding house or off-site.
Co-Curricular Activities
All boarders are encouraged to participate in the co-curricular activity programme provided by the school. Additionally, we organise regular activities and excursions during the weekends. Our boarders take the lead in organising these activities, similar to our school clubs and societies. Community outreach forms a key part of our programme, with all boarders expected to dedicate some time to making a difference within our community.
Transportation
Boarders travelling independently receive a welcome and departure service at all KL Airports and the KL Sentral train station. This service includes a friendly greeting by a Charterhouse staff member, assistance with check-in at the airport or train station, and transport to and from the boarding house. Furthermore, Charterhouse Malaysia offers daily transportation to and from school.
Charterhouse Malaysia Staff
A resident Charterhouse staff member is always available to attend to the boarders’ needs and to offer care, support, and guidance, whether it be social, emotional, or academic.
Boarding provides a level of independence, and students are encouraged to utilise their evenings and weekends for study, socialisation, communication with friends and family, and involvement in community projects, leisure and sport. Our resident staff are supported by the students’ House Tutor and subject teachers to ensure this newfound independence is manageable and each boarder can reach their full potential.
