A Level Scholarship

The A Level Scholarship programme at Charterhouse Malaysia aim to recognise and support exceptional deserving students across Academic, The Arts, Sports and Future Ready. The candidate for our A Level Scholarship should embody the spirit of Future Readiness – students ready to Study, Create and Inspire. The A Level Scholarship is not just about academic excellence, they are about nurturing passionate individuals who will not only excel in their chosen field, but also positively influence the dynamic fabric of our school community.

What is the Charterhouse Malaysia Future Ready Scholarship?​

The scholarship offered covers up to 100% of tuition fees for the two-year A Level programme, including the International Project Qualification.

What does the Future Ready Scholarship cover?

It covers up to 100% of tuition and registration fee. It does NOT cover:

  • Textbooks
  • Stationery
  • Personal computer
  • Travel expenses to and from school
  • Additional costs for educational visits (residential or day)
  • Miscellaneous expenses.

In cases of demonstrated hardship, some students may be offered help with additional expenses. This is decided on an individual case by case basis and is by no means guaranteed to be included with every full scholarship place.

Who should apply for the A Level Scholarship?

Charterhouse Malaysia’s scholarships are aimed at meritorious applicants from within Malaysia. All applicants are chosen on merit regardless of nationality, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity or religion.

A meritorious applicant is one who can demonstrate high academic achievement coupled with a history of commitment to personal growth, service of others, student leadership, involvement in the life of the school and their community and the potential to be transformative. Applicants must demonstrate their potential to study, create and inspire and that they share the Charterhouse personality traits of perseverance, responsibility, moral courage, open-mindedness and kindness.

How to Apply for the A Level Scholarship?

The A Level Scholarship application will open from December to January for the following August intake. Here are the usual application process for Charterhouse Malaysia’s A Level Scholarship.

Step One

Application

Complete an application form and submit all supporting documents to Charterhouse Malaysia’s Admissions Team. Here are the supporting documents needed:

  • Personal Statement/Letter of application
  • Chronological list with brief description of achievements/activities participated in, both in and out of school covering:
    • Academic
    • Sport
    • Arts – performing and creative
    • Leadership
    • Community service
    • Personal interest
  • Provide a minimum of one confidential reference (please inform Admissions if you would like to provide more than two reference), and Admissions from Charterhouse will send email to the email provided to request below information:
    • Actual and Predicted grades
    • Academic strengths and areas for development
    • Contributions to the life of the school with specific examples that demonstrate character, growth mindset, initiative, collaboration, leadership and future potential
    • Contributions to the wider community outside of the school that again demonstrate character, growth mindset, initiative, collaboration, leadership and future potential
    • Information about personal interests, ambition, career objectives, character, behaviour
    • Statement on safeguarding
  • School reports from past two years

All Scholarship candidates selected by the Scholarship Committee will be required to take CAT4 assesment.

Individual Student and Parents Interviews with the Scholarship Committee.

Decision

Decision

The Scholarship Committee will review all applications and decide on the awards. The decision will be communicated to the parents and students in writing.
