Design Thinking

Empowering Students With Future Ready Education

Overview

At Charterhouse Malaysia, we integrate design thinking into our curriculum, equipping students with the skills and mindset to navigate an evolving world. Through the five phases of empathising, defining, ideating, prototyping, and testing, students become adept problem solvers, approaching challenges with creativity and fresh perspectives.

Design thinking prepares students for the future by combining human attributes with technology, fostering adaptability, innovation, and collaboration. It is integrated into our Independent Learning Projects (ILP) programme, allowing students to apply problem-solving skills to real-world scenarios and meaningful and positive impact on the world.

Design thinking is also an integral part of our Charterhouse Forum and Community Partnership initiatives. Students take on leadership roles, apply design thinking principles to decision-making, and contribute to positive change within the school and wider community.

The outcomes of incorporating design thinking into our curriculum are remarkable, including improved examination results. By engaging students in active learning and developing critical thinking skills, we help them to excel academically and to gain a deep understanding of various subjects.

Design thinking is essential for preparing students to embrace complexity, adapt to emerging technologies, and approach challenges with resilience and creativity. At Charterhouse Malaysia, we deliver a future-ready education that goes beyond exam results, empowering students to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
