As part of our continued commitment to delivering a world-class education that is Future Ready by Design, Charterhouse Malaysia is proud to announce the appointment of Ms. Emilie Eymin as our new Assistant Headteacher – Student Development and Wellbeing, starting in August 2025.
This new role reflects the school’s dedication to nurturing the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally. Emilie will take over much of the important work that Mr. Tom Robinson has led over the last five years as Deputy Head Pastoral, and she will be instrumental in further developing our student welfare initiatives and our expanding boarding programme.
With over two decades of experience in leading UK independent schools and international institutions in Singapore, Emilie brings with her deep expertise in pastoral care, safeguarding, boarding, language education, and holistic student development. She has held leadership positions at some of the most prestigious schools in the UK, including Whitgift, St. Mary’s Ascot, North London Collegiate School, and St. Paul’s Girls’ School. Most recently, she served as Vice Principal Pastoral at North London Collegiate School Singapore.
Fluent in English, French, and Spanish, Emilie holds a First-Class MA in English Literature from Goldsmiths, University of London, a PGCE in French and Spanish from UCL, and a BA in English from Toulouse University, where she graduated top of her class.
Empowering Students, Building Character
At the heart of Emilie’s approach is a deep belief in empowering students to thrive—academically, emotionally, and socially. She understands that a student’s educational journey is not defined solely by academic results but also by how they grow as individuals, how they develop confidence, resilience, empathy, and how they are supported to become active, self-aware global citizens.
“Throughout a 20-year career in some of the most high-performing, academically selective schools in the UK and Singapore, my raison d’être has been to make my students’ school experience a vibrant, inspirational and inclusive one, by ceaselessly promoting academic excellence, personal growth, psychological resilience, confidence, independence and well-being” says Emilie.
Her appointment aligns perfectly with our Future Ready by Design mission, particularly our commitment to the pillars of Wellbeing & Personal Growth and Empowering Students. Through Charterhouse’s Spectra Smarts framework, we help students develop a deep understanding of themselves and others—socially, emotionally, and intellectually. Emilie’s vision and experience will strengthen our ability to foster this growth in every student.
A Globally Minded Leader for a Globally Minded School
Emilie’s passion for languages and cultures further amplifies our goal of cultivating respectful and globally minded graduates. She is an advocate for multilingualism and believes that students benefit greatly from learning languages and being exposed to diverse cultures.
“As a passionate and well-travelled linguist, I am particularly keen to encourage young people to achieve fluency in foreign languages, to develop intercultural adaptability and understanding and to become genuinely global citizens,” Emilie adds.
At Charterhouse Malaysia, where our students come from a range of cultural backgrounds and aspire to universities around the world, Emilie’s international outlook will be key in ensuring students are not just academically equipped—but also globally fluent and culturally agile.
Looking Ahead
“I see my role as helping to propel each student into his or her best possible future and I am passionate about creating nurturing environments in which every student is seen, heard, known, valued and supported as an individual, so they can truly flourish,” Emilie shares.
“Charterhouse Malaysia will continue to nurture kindness, empathy and respect for others, while providing students with crucial transferable skills which allow them to succeed and thrive in their lives beyond school. I am incredibly excited about this opportunity to make Charterhouse Malaysia a model of excellence in international education in Malaysia, in Southeast Asia and far beyond.”
We are delighted to welcome Emilie to the Charterhouse community. Her experience, energy and care for student wellbeing will be instrumental in deepening our mission to provide a Future Ready education that empowers each student to shape a meaningful life and a better world.
